Abstract: High Resolution Image Download MS PowerPoint Slide We describe an interdisciplinary medicinal plant course that integrates chemistry, botany, and cultural history in an immersive, study-abroad setting. By examining phytochemicals within their botanical and ecological contexts, students connect molecular science to real-world applications, enhancing their engagement and accessibility. Study-abroad experiences further enrich learning through hands-on exploration and interdisciplinary collaboration. As global citizenship gains emphasis in higher education, this model offers a compelling framework for integrating science with cultural perspectives, benefiting both students and faculty.
