Abstract: Drug-coated balloons (DCB) have become an important therapeutic option in coronary interventions, particularly for the management of in-stent restenosis and selected de novo lesions. Their clinical performance is mainly determined by the pharmacological substance, carrier matrix, and drug–tissue transfer kinetics. This systematic review evaluates different drug substances used in DCB technology and their clinical implications.
