DEBS-033 | Drug-Coated Balloons in Complex Chronic Total Occlusions: Evidence for a Remodeling-Oriented Strategy in Contemporary CTO-PCI

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Drug-coated balloons (DCB) have gained increasing interest in chronic total occlusion percutaneous coronary intervention (CTO-PCI), especially in anatomies characterized by negative remodeling, diffuse disease, or pronounced proximal–distal tapering—settings in which long stented segments may be mechanically and biologically suboptimal. Despite rising clinical adoption, available evidence is dispersed across heterogeneous studies.
