Abstract: ABSTRACT Chromatography and emission spectroscopy were used to study the efficiency of CO 2 decomposition when passing it through a microwave discharge in an aqueous ethanol solution at atmospheric pressure. Product yields were determined as a function of incident power, ethanol concentration in the solution, and CO 2 flow rate. It was shown that the degree of CO 2 decomposition under the experimental conditions reached 40%. The effect of the discharge on changes in the composition of the aqueous ethanol solution was studied, and the morphology and elemental composition of the solid particles formed in the discharge were determined.
