Abstract: The topographic arrangement of the blood vessels of the anterior abdominal wall is of great importance in surgical practice and is considered one of the principal factors in preventing bleeding complications during various operative interventions. This article provides a topographic-anatomical analysis of the superficial and deep blood vessels of the anterior abdominal wall, including the epigastric arteries and their anatomical variants. In the course of the study, the position of the vessels in relation to the muscular and fascial layers, their individual anatomical variability, as well as their interrelation with operative incisions are examined. The results obtained serve to provide a scientifically grounded choice of approaches to the abdominal cavity, to reduce vascular injuries during laparoscopic and open operations, and to lower the risk of postoperative complications. The results of this study may also be applied in practical surgery and in the process of teaching operative anatomy.
