Abstract: This report offers an in-depth analysis of West Virginia’s regional housing markets as defined by the state’s 11 Planning and Development Councils. Using a mixed methods approach that combines public and proprietary data from secondary sources with the experiences and insights of local housing stakeholders, it provides the West Virginia Housing Development Fund, state and local policy makers, and housing advocates with a comprehensive view of the state’s housing landscape including demographics, housing quality, and housing availability and unmet need at the county, region and state levels. It is designed to support more creative thinking and stronger collaboration at the state, regional and local levels as West Virginia works to address its most pressing housing needs.
