Abstract: This chapter explains the transformative impact of digital innovation, technology, and research-based practices on higher education systems in our world. It tells us how emerging digital technologies and innovations such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR and AR), and other online learning platforms are revolutionizing teaching and learning processes. Focusing on the impact of research on pedagogical processes, this chapter highlights the shifting of the education system towards active, inquiry-based learning that develops creativity and critical thinking among the students. It also discusses the benefits, opportunities, and challenges that are associated with digital transformation and research-driven education and also explains the importance of planned implementation and ethical considerations of these innovations.
