Year: 2025
Type: review
Study design: Systematic Review
Abstract: This article identifies studies on business strategic planning in South America published between 2018 and 2024 through a systematic review. From 21,919 records, 44 studies were selected, compiling data on authorship, publication details, and key findings. Of these, 31.82% address strategic planning in general, while the rest focus on sectors such as agribusiness, health, education, manufacturing, and MSMEs. Methodologically, 56.82% of the studies are quantitative and 43.18% qualitative, though only 27.27% of the quantitative papers present explanatory analyses. Overall, the reviewed literature highlights both the tools that support strategic planning and the broader organizational factors whose participation influences its success or failure.
