Abstract: In the article, based on the analysis of the results of international and domestic research on victims of traffic accidents,the concept and definition of victim behavior of road users is formulated, the meaning of individual victimization of roadusers is clarified, and statistical data on victims of traffic accidents is researched, the main forms and manifestationsof victim behavior are revealed. Victim means dangerous behavior for a road user in a specific road situation. Suchbehavior creates or contributes to emergency situations, resulting in serious injury or death to the victims. It was establishedthat the following forms of victim behavior are characteristic of road traffic participants: violation of traffic rules by thevictim, which created an emergency situation and contributed to his injury or death; violation of traffic rules by severalroad users, which resulted in harm to life or health of one or more offenders or third parties; failure to comply withmandatory safety rules, which contributes to the injury or death of the subject of inaction. The last form of victim behavioris the most widespread, it is characteristic of vulnerable road users (pedestrians, children, cyclists). It is noted that a levelof victim behavior of road users in the frontline regions is increasing in war conditions. There is also an increase in thenumber of dead and injured pedestrians and children. It is proposed to develop the victimological direction of road safety.Key words: victimization, victim behavior, road users, traffic crimes, victims, traffic accidents, safety.
