This research investigates the phenomenon of "repetitive citation" of Quranic verses within the two seminal works of the Master of Rhetoric, Abd al-Qahir al-Jurjani: (Asrar al-Balagha) and (Dala'il al-I'jaz). The study aims to achieve a pivotal objective: uncovering how al-Jurjani employed the same citation across diverse rhetorical contexts and tracking the shift in textual analysis from a purely figurative perspective to the Theory of Construction (Nazm). The significance of this study lies in shedding light on a nuanced aspect of al-Jurjani’s thought that has yet to receive sufficient independent scholarly attention, while elucidating the role of Quranic citations in constructing theoretical concepts and establishing the foundations of Quranic inimitability (I’jaz). The research adopts an inductive comparative methodology by identifying the repeated verses and analyzing their specific contexts within both books. The study is structured into a theoretical introduction concerning the concept and importance of the "citation" (Shahid), followed by two main chapters. The first examines the "contexts of repeated citations" through a methodological comparison, while the second focuses on the "characteristics and values of these citations" (interpretative, argumentative, and aesthetic). The study concludes that repetition in al-Jurjani's work was not incidental; rather, it represents a conscious "re-reading" that invests the potential of the Quranic text from multiple angles to substantiate the principles of "Nazm" and deepen the aesthetic impact. The study recommends expanding research into the "context of citation" among classical rhetoricians, moving beyond viewing citations as static pedagogical examples to seeing them as dynamic argumentative tools that shaped Arabic rhetorical thought.
