Navigating Literature Forest: A Metaphorical Guide for Conducting a Literature Review

Abstract: This scholarly narrative reimagines the literature review as an immersive, metaphorical expedition through Literature Forest, building on Zizzi’s (2021) #ResearchMountain conceptualization of the research journey. As climbers of #ResearchMountain, the purpose of this narrative is to illuminate pathways students and early scholars can take when navigating the intellectual, methodological, and emotional processes of reviewing literature with clarity, purposefulness, and resilience. Climbers are guided through the expedition of hiking Literature Forest and introduced to approaches and practical tools for conducting rigorous review of the literature.
