245P cfDNA fragmentomics as a non-invasive tool for differentiating malignant from benign lung nodules: A prospective study focusing on small lesions
Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) effectively reduces lung cancer mortality through early detection but is limited by a high false-positive rate, often causing unnecessary invasive procedures and patient burdens. Circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) fragmentomics—analyzing fragment size distribution and end motifs—emerges as a promising non-invasive cancer detection strategy. This prospective study (MR-31-25-004765) evaluated its efficacy in differentiating malignant from benign lung nodules, focusing on small lesions.
