SANA-STCS: A Sovereign AI Node Architecture with Thermal Cartridge System
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: SANA-STCS proposes a Sovereign AI Node Architecture (SANA) in which AI computation is physically and logically decoupled from general-purpose host systems. Instead of operating as a workload within a host OS, the AI system is implemented as an independent execution node with its own power domain, control plane, memory hierarchy, and thermally governed environment. The architecture integrates an ARM-based orchestration layer (Optimal Addressing Layer), a heterogeneous memory stack (HBM + GDDR + NVMe), and a Thermal Cartridge System (STCS) leveraging high-mass thermal inertia to stabilize burst workloads. Communication with external devices is achieved via a unified multi-service optical fabric supporting compute, storage, and control planes through a payload-based execution model. This approach reduces host dependency, improves deterministic performance characteristics, and enables persistent AI state across devices, reframing AI systems from accelerators into resident computational entities.
