Abstract: Assessment of magnetic field influence on selected parameters of heart rate variability -short communicationBackground: In the study the influence of low frequency (30-50 Hz), 0,3-0,5 mT magnetic field on the human heart rate variability HRV is analysed.HRV is quantified on the base of phonocardiographic (PhCG) and electrocardiographic (ECG) signals with the use of "chaos theory" measures: fractal scaling exponents, Poincare plot characteristics, and entropy.Material and methods: The values of nonlinear HRV parameters obtained for PhCG signals recorded under the influence of magnetic field are compared to values of HRV parameters found for PhCG signals recorded before and after exposure to magnetic field. Also the values of HRV parameters obtained for ECG signals recorded before the exposure to magnetic field are compared to values of HRV parameters found for ECG signals recorded after the exposure. Results and conclusions: From the study it follows that there is no significant difference between the values of HRV parameters evaluated for both ECG and PhCG signals before, during and after the exposure to the magnetic field as well as on frequencies and intensities of magnetic field applied.(
