Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Purpose –The aim of this study is to determine the performance of companies operating in the Borsa İstanbul (BIST) Transportation and Storage Sector.Design/methodology/approach –Using the data of the companies for the period 2020–2024, the criteria were weighted through the Entropy method. Subsequently, employing these criterion weights, the companies were ranked using the MOORA analysis method.Findings –The analysis results revealed that, in the entropy method, marketing and distribution expenses (0.15), cost of sales (0.11), and financial expenses (0.10) had relatively high average weights among the entropy weights. CLEBI consistently demonstrated strongperformance, ranking among the top three in all periods. PGSUS rose from the lowest ranks to first place, becoming the highest-performing company. THYAO exhibited the lowest performance throughout all periods, ranking last. Discussion –The analysis provided an evaluation of the companies in terms of costs and revenues, identifying the significance level of various expense or revenue items in company performance. Considering entropy weights, effective cost–revenue management can enhance company performance.
