Abstract: The European Journal for Security Research offers a forum for a wide range of security-related topics and perspectives. The present issue contains four articles on multidisciplinary topics such as the policy-informed discourse analysis in the UK's counter-terrorism framework, the politicisation of the UK's counter-terrorism programme, hybrid judicial governance in Albania, and the pressing issue of combatting disinformation in democratic societies and enhancing resilience capacities. In this manner, the issue combines a careful examination on novel approaches to resilience against disinformation and the emergence of new models of judicial governance with contemporary developments in counter-terrorism frameworks. In concrete, the two papers on UK's counter-terrorism grew from a panel at the Annual Conference of the Centre for Crime, Justice and Policing at the University of Birmingham, UK, that was devoted to the UK's anti-radicalisation programme PREVENT.This programme recently received significant attention due to both domestic reviews as well as consideration of introducing similar initiatives in other European jurisdictions. This issue therefore provides some crucial context, lessons and even suggestions for anyone considering following in the UK's counter-terrorism footsteps.Rita Augestad Knudsen and Paul Betts highlight the differences between the profiles of individuals driving the UK terrorist threat picture and those drawn into the anti-radicalisation efforts of PREVENT.Utilising discourse analysis, their evaluation demonstrates some tracking of the evolving threat -in the work undertaken within PREVENT -but also clear over-representation of individuals with multiple-complex needs (MCN).They identify a tendency to categorise persons with vulnerabilities as risky as the preventative wing of counter-terrorism efforts defer to the presumptions
