A case report of ruptured inferior mesenteric artery aneurysm with superior mesenteric artery stenosis

Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: The incidence of inferior mesenteric artery aneurysms is extremely low. Once they rupture, the situation becomes extremely dangerous, and immediate intervention measures must be taken. We reported a unique case of ruptured and bleeding inferior mesenteric artery aneurysm with superior mesenteric artery stenosis. After diagnostic angiography, a super-selective transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE) was performed. Our patient achieved the best therapeutic outcome through the most minimally invasive surgical method. A personalized treatment strategy is recommended in the management of inferior mesenteric artery aneurysm.
