Abstract: Background: Prostate cancer is the second most common malignant neoplasm in men.In the "castration resistance" stage, disease progression occurs when patients have already received prior androgen blockade, and new medications must be used to stop the progression of the disease. Objective: To know the progression-free survival in patients who have suffered from castration-resistant prostate cancer.Method: A review of the antiandrogenic drug databases of the participating medical unit was performed to select patients undergoing treatment who met the inclusion criteria. Results: A sample of 63 patients was obtained, 36 (57%) patients received enzalutamide, pre-docetaxel patients achieved a progression-free survival of 19,739 months and post-docetaxel patients achieved a progression-free survival of 21,077 months; 27 (43%) patients received abiraterone, pre-docetaxel patients achieved a progression-free survival of 17,938 months and post-docetaxel patients achieved a progression-free survival of 15.0 months. Conclusions: Progression-free survival in patients with castration-resistant prostate cancer in the studied population is superior to that reported in international studies.
