Hydra-Flux – Operational Addendum (Variant C: Ultra-Tight Diffuse Clays)

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Conventional hydrate production concepts frequently underperform or fail in diffuse ultra-tight clay-dominated systems because the limiting factor is not dissociation kinetics alone, but contacted volume: matrix permeability is too low for field-scale sweep to be assumed, and near-wellbore behavior is dominated by capillarity, gas-lock, injectivity collapse, and interface-sensitive compatibility failures. This addendum refines the Hydra-Flux Master Compendium for Variant C by specifying: [INVARIANT] why T0x (Connectivity Creation) is a mandatory gate prior to scaled T1 dissociation, [INVARIANT] the diagnostic minimum success condition for T0x (diagnosable transmissivity beyond local acceptance), [RISK] the dominant failure modes in ultra-tight diffuse settings (gas-lock, runaway pathways, filtration/face plugging, precipitation/pH shock, and preferential pathway dominance), [INVARIANT] the transition discipline required for staged operations (spacer flush logic, microfine-first placement when exclusion dominates, monitoring-driven STOP/RETREAT behavior). All mechanisms, sequences, and quantitative envelopes herein remain conceptual unless independently validated. This addendum makes no claim of field readiness, bankable performance, universal applicability, or containment guarantee.
