Abstract: Urolithiasis is common, afflicting approximately 14% of the American population at least once during their lifetime. Although most stones are comprised of calcium oxalate, calcium phosphate, uric acid, or struvite, unusual stone components are important to recognize because the management is often completely different. In particular, identification of certain exogenous medications, supplements, or even foods that can crystallize in the urinary tract is critical, so that exposure can be reduced and stones prevented.
