Effect sizes and test power to evaluate spike sorting
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: The calculation of effect sizes and statistical power in simulated neurophysiological experiments provides a powerful tool to evaluate spike-sorting techniques. An example application shows how changing the spike detection threshold can affect the magnitude of observed neural responses. This approach applies to a broad range of neurophysiological experiments.
