Associations of Network Segregation with Neurocognitive Functioning and APOE4 in TBI

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This study aims to examine network segregation changes, derived from functional connectivity across brain networks. The correlation between network segregation changes and neurocognitive functioning will be examined across various domains, as well as the influence of the APOE4 allele presence, which has been associated with poorer outcomes post-TBI (Crawford, 2002; Sundstrom, 2004). Expected outcomes include a decrease in network segregation for participants with APOE4 allele presence and/or TBI status, as well as an association between lower network segregation and poorer performance across neurocognitive domains.
