Abstract: Reconsideration of Population Policy in China: Focusing on its Relationship with Fertility WU WENGEER Abstract:China, as the most populous country in the world, consistently attracts attention for its population policies.Since population policies have long-term implications, it is important to consider the entire population policy, not only the "one-child policy" itself but also other policy changes and their implementation. In this paper, I discussed that there were policies applied based on regions and timeframes that cannot be simply summarized as the "one-child policy."I highlighted the necessity for analyzing demographic trends considering such variations and conduct policy evaluations accordingly. Moreover, in an attempt to ascertain whether the adjustments to the "one-child policy" since 2013 have been a contributing factor to changes in birth rates, I attempted to estimate a fixed-effects model using panel data from five regions. The analysis yielded no significant policy variables, indicating that the effects of the adjustments to the "one-child policy" since 2013 have been limited.Keywords:One-child policy, planned birth policy, regional differences
