Fermi Bubbles as Galactic-Scale Cadence Cavities

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Fermi Bubbles are two enormous gamma-ray lobes extending roughly 8–10 kpc above and below the Galactic Center, accompanied by even larger 12–14 kpc eROSITA X-ray structures. Their sharp edges, symmetry, and multi-wavelength coherence remain difficult to reconcile with standard hydrodynamic or magnetohydrodynamic outflow models, which require finely tuned collimated injections or repeated tidal disruption events to maintain such morphology. This paper introduces a mechanical interpretation in which the bubbles are cadence cavities—regions of reduced field density and increased recursion rate—bounded by cadence shock fronts. We show how this framework naturally explains the bubbles’ morphology, spectral behavior, and stability, and we outline a multi-instrument observational program capable of distinguishing cadence discontinuities from conventional astrophysical shocks.
