Smears serve as an essential tool for culturing microorganisms, identifying them, and studying their biological characteristics. Various smear preparation methods, their advantages and limitations, as well as sterilization and storage requirements are discussed. The article emphasizes their practical application in virology and immunology and their importance in ensuring accurate diagnostic procedures.
