Computation of the Forward Problem Matrix in Ocean Acoustic Tomography
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Key computations for Ocean Acoustic Tomography are the path integrals of the ocean model functions over predicted acoustic ray paths. The computations are sometimes sensitive to the nature of how the ray paths traverse the variations of the model functions, hence cautious computations are required. The theoretical considerations are described in a brief document, a document that also describes two associated short MATLAB program scripts.
