Mapping Resources to Support Parental Preparation for a Child's End of Life: A Scoping Review

Abstract: This scoping review aims to identify, map, and synthesize the available resources designed to support parental preparation for a child’s end of life. The review will include resources intended directly for parents, as well as resources developed to guide clinicians in supporting parents through end-of-life preparation. We will examine the scope, content, format, target audience, and intended use of these resources across pediatric serious illness contexts. By characterizing the current landscape and identifying gaps in available supports, this review will inform future research and intervention development to improve preparation for end-of-life care and bereavement outcomes among parents of children with life-limiting conditions.
