Abstract: The magnetization dynamics of Yttrium iron garnet (YIG)/ SnTe thin film heterostructure were investigated using the Magnetoimpedance effect. The oriented growth of the YIG layer on a (111) Gadolinium Gallium Garnet substrate was confirmed using X-ray Diffraction and the static magnetic properties were verified through Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM). The magnetoimpedance response was used to evaluate the effect of the SnTe layer on the mechanisms behind the spin-pumping of two distinct YIG thicknesses, when compared to a reference sample of YIG/Ag. The results indicated that the SnTe successfully modified the effective damping parameter ( α eff ), as observed through peak broadening in the MI response and the related ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) parameters. The discussion is based on the different contributions to the FMR linewidth ( Δ H ). To elucidate the mechanisms underlying the modifications in the magnetoimpedance response, a theoretical approach is proposed, based on changes in two-magnon scattering and spin pumping, with YIG thickness as a variable to expand the simulations. Simulated results agree well with the experimental data. • Yttrium Iron Garnet heterostructures • Magnetoimpedance for FMR studies • Tin Telluride thin films for spin-pumping enhancement • Magnetron Sputtering for multistructure deposition
