Comparison of maximal peak power outputs from the torque-velocity assessment and fatigue task in females.
Year: 2026
Type: other
Abstract: A: Power outputs across the full torque-velocity and fatigue assessments in females. B: Peak mechanical power outputs for young, old, and very old females were higher in the torque-velocity assessment than the fatigue task (p < 0.001, semi-partial R2 = 0.41). C: Rates of peak power loss with aging in females did not differ between the torque-velocity assessment (~4.3 W·yr-1) and the fatigue task (~4.2 W·yr-1, p = 0.740). Gray boxes indicate velocities with <100% completion. Values in A and B are the means ± SE. Lines in panel C are the least squares regression lines. *Significantly different from young at p <0.05. #Significantly different from old at p < 0.05.
