Abstract: ABSTRACT The purpose of this Teaching and Learning Guide is to provide perspective on addressing the difficult topic of deportation of an ethnic group while using children's literature as a guide; we also aim to model evidence‐based reading comprehension strategies such as activating prior knowledge and making text‐to‐self connections.
