Admissible Sequence Networks A Minimal Structural Model of Temporal Experience
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This paper presents a minimal structural model of temporal experience based on admissible sequence formation within a network of possible states. Building on prior work examining dream waking and blackout conditions temporal experience is interpreted as the stabilised traversal of admissible transitions rather than as an intrinsically linear progression. States are represented as nodes and transitions as edges with admissibility acting as a constraint on allowable paths. While non linear access to states is permitted at the level of possibility only sequences satisfying constraint compatibility are realised as coherent experience. The model unifies different experiential regimes as variations in constraint density. The framework proposes that experienced time is not a fundamental linear structure but an emergent property of constrained traversal within a space of possible configurations. Dream waking and blackout states are interpreted as distinct regimes defined by branching density and constraint conditions. Intervention within experience does not modify past states but selects alternative admissible transitions resulting in re stabilised sequences. This work extends Dream State Nonlinear Time and Sequence Based Temporal Experience A Structural Interpretation within the Paton System Paton 2026 and forms part of a broader structural framework linking temporal experience sequence formation and cognitive mapping.
