Dynamic Retail Performance Dashboard (DRPD): An Enterprise-Grade Business Intelligence Platform for Data-Driven Decision Support
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This paper discusses the design, construction, and evaluation of the Dynamic Retail Performance Dashboard (DRPD), an enterprise-level Business Intelligence (BI) platform developed using Python-based open-source tools. DRPD meets the important need for retail analytics that is easy to use, can grow with your business, and is easy to understand by putting descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytical tools into one Streamlit-based interface. The system has three levels of analysis: Foundational Analytics (Tier 1), Prescriptive Insights (Tier 2), and Advanced Intelligence (Tier 3). This helps people decide what to do at the operational, tactical, and strategic levels. Some of the most important new features are dynamic geospatial visualization, automated anomaly detection using statistical thresholding, machine learning-driven feature importance analysis with Random Forest regression, and algorithmic period-over-period comparative analytics. Testing the platform with real-world retail transaction data shows that it can turn raw data into useful strategic insights while keeping computing efficiency through smart caching and modular design. Anyone can use DRPD, which is open-source software, to promote its use in both business and academic settings.
