Abstract: This review essay of Andy Pike’s “Financialization and Local Statecraft” reflects on three key thematics in the text: risk, solutions, and politics. I then identify three areas in which the political and geographical stakes of Pike’s work engage with contemporary literature and normative concerns in financial and economic geography.
