Evaluation of the Efficacy of Eisenia fetida in the Bioconversion of organic waste into Nutritive Vermicompost
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: The rapid generation of municipal and agricultural organic waste necessitates sustainable disposal methods. This paper evaluates the efficacy of the earthworm Eisenia fetida (Red Wiggler) in transforming organic waste into nutrient-dense vermicompost. Through a comparative analysis of waste reduction, nutrient enrichment (N-P-K), and microbial activity, this study demonstrates that vermicomposting significantly outperforms traditional composting and with excellent fertilizer quality.
