Abstract: Burkholderia pseudomallei, an environmental Gram-negative saprophyte is the causative agent of melioidosis, a potentially fatal yet treatable clinical entity. We report an unusual colony morphology of the organism to minimize misidentification and enable accurate diagnosis.
