Gradient Residuals - The Calculus of Clearance - Research Note VII: The Arithmetic of Recursion

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Essay VII derives the complete arithmetic of nothing's recursive structure — the full catalogue of stable, unstable, and non-recursive states that the helical worldline of Essay V can sustain — and the structural consequences these states generate: computational load, propagation, gravitational gradient, and the coarse-graining cascade. The essay proceeds in eight parts, building on ε_snap = 1/30 and the structural constants of Essays I through VI. Part 0 surveys Phase II's derivational status precisely. Part I derives the Dual-Route Identity T.DRI: N_sat = 1/(σ x δ) from both the Structural Pixel area (Route A) and the next-level grain (Route B, δ_1 = 1/σ). Part II exhaustively forecloses all N_sat not equal to 25. Part III derives the algebraic root ε_snap = 1/(d x n), from which the closure condition k = d × m follows, and T.KDRI: k_min = d = 3. The even-multiplier instability is fully derived, and k=1, k=2 are foreclosed with all alternatives closed. Part IV derives the complete stable spectrum, the exhaust-per-closure identity for each stable state, sub-vacuum state analysis, and the Ω-quantum identity (spacing = d_B). Part V derives computational load Ω = k and kinetic inertia in full. Part VI establishes the three-class kinetic taxonomy. Part VII derives gravity from the differential update frequency — with the wavefront minimum extent justified from T.MBD, the full deflection spectrum across all knot types, and the convergence of the deflection angle to δ/σ as k approaches infinity. Part VIII derives the coarse-graining event's most extraordinary consequence: τ₀_1 = 1 and N_sat_1 = 1 at level 1, meaning the first coarse-grained structure saturates at its very first Chronon — a structural acceleration driving rapid condensation.
