Maternal nonstandard work schedules and children's socioemotional health: Evidence from the UK millennium cohort study
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Associations between maternal non-standard work schedules and child SDQ scores are mainly driven by between-individual differences. Maternal depression partially mediates the relationship between maternal non-standard work schedules and children's socioemotional health. Evidence for mediation via children's mealtime and bedtime routine is inconclusive. Supporting the mental health of mothers working non-standard schedules may help protect children's socioemotional health.
