Abstract: This paper explores the feasibility of using superbend magnets in Korean fourth-generation storage ring (4GSR). Substituting a 2 T normal bend magnet with a 4 T high-temperature superconductor (HTS) superbend magnet featuring no-insulation (NI) technology could potentially enhance brightness and coherence of storage rings as well as photon energy. We detail the design process of a superbend magnet using NI technology, examining its electromagnetic, mechanical, and thermal performances. Additionally, we analyse key factors like charging delay, screening current, and quench dynamics to evaluate the operational suitability of the NI magnet in accelerator environments. Our findings indicate a viable path for incorporating HTS technology in the Korean 4GSR, potentially influencing its adoption in broader particle accelerator applications.
