Measurement of isolated-prompt photon$-$hadron correlations in Pb$-$Pb collisions at $\mathbf{\sqrt{\textit{s}_{\rm NN}} = 5.02}$ TeV

Abstract: CERN-LHC. The ALICE Collaboration at the CERN LHC has measured the isolated-prompt photon$-$hadron correlations at midrapidity as a function of $\Delta\varphi$ and $z_{\mathrm{T}} = p_\mathrm{T}^{h}/p_\mathrm{T}^{\gamma}$, in Pb$-$Pb collisions in different centrality intervals at centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}}=5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$. The photon transverse momentum range is between 18$-$40 GeV/$c$. The Pb$-$Pb collision data are divided in the centrality classes 0$-$30%, 30$-$50% and 50$-$90%. The covered pseudorapidity range is $|\eta^{\gamma}| <0.67$. The isolation selection is based on a charged particle isolation momentum threshold $p_\mathrm{T}^{\mathrm{iso,~ch}} = 1.5$ GeV/$c$ within a cone of radii $R=0.2$. The correlated hadrons have a pseudorapidity range of $|\eta^{\mathrm{h}}| <0.9$ and a transverse momentum $p_{\mathrm{T}}^{\mathrm{h}}>1.8~\mathrm{GeV}/c$. The correlated hadrons are integrated over $|\Delta\varphi|>3/5\pi$ rad to extract the $D(z_{\rm{T}})$ distribution.
