Abstract: The cleavage of amide C-N bonds is of considerable interest across synthetic chemistry, biological processes, and the pharmaceutical industry. Conventionally, these transformations have necessitated the use of transition-metal catalysts or harsh reaction conditions, including strong acids, strong bases, and elevated temperatures. Here, a facile and practical method was reported for the alcoholysis of N-acylpyrrole-type amides under mild conditions using a weak base as the catalyst. This strategy offers a broad substrate scope and high functional group compatibility.
