Gravity from Asymptotic Angular Rigidity Phase Transition

Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: This work proposes an alternative framework to dark matter based on the asymptotic relaxation of the microstructure of space. In this approach, the vacuum metric is not assumed to be infinitely rigid, but instead exhibits a nonlinear coupling to energy density and structural organization. While diffuse mass distributions operate within a Euclidean linear regime (ε = 0), compact and dynamically coherent systems (i.e., approximately collisionless structures) may induce a progressive reduction of effective angular degrees of freedom, leading to a radial metric of the form: f(r) ~ r^(1−ε) This mechanism may provide a geometric interpretation of galactic rotation curves and the observed phenomenology of the Bullet Cluster without invoking non-baryonic matter components.
