Structural design and integrity assessment of FOWT substructures : supporting cost efficiency across the life cycle
Year: 2026
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Floating offshore wind turbines (FOWT) offer a promising solution for deep-water wind energy deployment, but their large-scale application remains constrained by high cost. Approximately 25% of capital expenditure is associated with substructures [1]. This motivates early-stage design and long-term integrity assessment to improve structural efficiency across the life cycle.
