The study aimed to examine the relationship between excessive use of short video clips and perceived attention among a sample of youth in Jeddah. The researcher adopted a descriptive correlational-comparative approach and used two instruments to achieve the study objectives: The Short Video Clips Overuse Scale and the Perceived Attention Scale, on a sample of (454) young people of both genders, aged between )25 and 65(years. The study found a high level of excessive use of short video clips, and a statistically significant negative relationship between the average degree of overuse and its dimensions and perceived attention and its dimensions. In light of these results, the researcher recommends implementing awareness programs to reduce excessive use and encourage moderate usage, as well as designing a digital program that integrates attention management to enhance sustained focus despite the high level of attention shifting between digital stimuli, with the program’s impact evaluated using objective measurement tools cognitive distraction.
