Local Holography as Emergent Encoding of Overlap-Coherence Dynamics

Abstract: This paper formulates local holography as conditional reconstruction of evolving coarse descriptions from boundary-accessible records in overlapping finite domains. The operational object is an epoch-indexed frame stream whose records carry declared resolution, uncertainty, provenance, freshness, retained memory, and finite-window reliability. The construction assumes a causal or interaction structure. Its definitions require neither anti-de Sitter geometry nor a conformal boundary, exact bulk-boundary duality, or area law for internal interfaces. Local holography denotes boundary-record sufficiency for a specified coarse task under stated conditions. For a deterministic non-injective boundary map, the record alone cannot distinguish every admissible fine state. Processing an existing record cannot restore erased information unless additional inputs contribute information conditional on what is already retained. Fresh observations can maintain accuracy about an evolving present while information about earlier states becomes negligible. Carrier degradation, semantic retention, target obsolescence, refresh, and correlated outage risk therefore require separate accounting. Neighboring records must be combined using a declared joint observation model, including epochs and statistical dependence. Synthetic examples illustrate these distinctions. Exact enumeration maps a sixteen-bit input through eight boundary relations to a four-bit frame with 4,096 fine preimages per frame. A selected eight-state Markov regulator yields a coarse process with demonstrable dependence on the preceding coarse frame, while a lumpable control does not. A new canonical numerical run compares relay policies, complementary observations, and correlated memory failures. An analytic archive comparison corrects the earlier interpretation of random fallback as a reconstruction limit. These results define an operational framework and tests for its application. They do not establish empirical boundary sufficiency, reconstruct spacetime geometry, or derive gravitational dynamics. Version 4.2 — Mathematical clarification and canonical numerical revision (14 September 2026). This version corrects information-loss and Markov-closure conditions, separates chart compatibility from transport holonomy, repairs the archive-policy interpretation, and replaces the inconsistent primary numerical ledger with canonical analytic and synthetic calculations. The missing historical full-channel burst generator is documented; its output is excluded from primary evidence. The companion ZIP includes complete source, current results, regenerated figures, validation, and unchanged historical archives.
