From the Emergence-Convergence Framework to the Riemann Hypothesis: A Complete Proof

Abstract: We present an operator-theoretic conditional proof framework for the Riemann Hypothesis. All finite-dimensional constructions and character sum estimates are rigorously proved; the main result is conditional on five operator-theoretic conjectures. This paper is a substantive revision of "From the Emergence-Convergence Framework to the Riemann Hypothesis: A Complete Proof" (Zenodo, 2026). The earlier version claimed the Riemann Hypothesis as a rigorously derived theorem within the Emergence-Convergence Framework (ECF). That claim cannot be sustained due to three technical flaws:(1) The derivation of the trace formula relied on orthogonality of Dirichlet characters of variable modulus—a technique that is mathematically invalid, since character orthogonality requires a fixed modulus.(2) The analytic continuation argument incorrectly treated the divergence of a contour integral swept past a pole as evidence that the pole cannot exist, a logical step that is not justified in complex analysis.(3) The spectral self-duality μ_k ↔ 1−μ_k was presented as a theorem, whereas the Triple Extremum Theorem of ECF provides a macroscopic variational principle that does not directly imply the microscopic spectral symmetry of an infinite-dimensional operator without additional rigorous justification. The present version replaces the flawed proof structure with a methodologically circumspect alternative. The core physical conclusions of ECF are distilled into five precisely defined operator-theoretic conjectures whose mathematical validity is independent of the verification status of ECF. We construct a prime reciprocity kernel operator G^Λ with a prime cutoff Λ, rigorously prove its finite-dimensional positive definiteness, spectral properties of the density operator, and fundamental characteristics. By converting variable-modulus character sums into fixed-modulus forms via quadratic reciprocity and employing large sieve mean-value estimates, we obtain upper bounds for the cross terms. We prove a conditional theorem: if all five conjectures hold, then the Riemann Hypothesis follows. A distinctive contribution is the proposal of a variational anchoring pathway for Conjecture 5, independent of the traditional trace formula approach, transforming the empirical question of why the operator spectrum should correspond to zeros into the variational problem of why the extremal configuration is unique.
