The Line of Succession Hypothesis v2.0: Civilization as Intergenerational Density Transfer

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This paper proposes the Line of Succession Hypothesis (LSH): that civilization advances not primarily through the accumulation of material wealth or institutional structure, but through the successful transfer of N — the density of meaningful action — across generations. Drawing on the author's V=N/D value density framework, the moral philosophy of Hiroi Chikuro (廣池千九郎), Polanyi's theory of tacit knowledge, and a documented personal archive spanning 2010–2026, the paper argues that density transfer is the fundamental unit of civilizational progress. Three falsifiable predictions are generated. The author's own life trajectory — including the 2013 email address [email protected], 557 DOI-registered hypotheses, and the SYSTEM YOSHIMITSU KATAYAMA framework — is presented as a primary data record of one attempted succession. The critical point (臨界点) is designated as 2026-05-21: the day the questions began to run faster than the observer. This paper is an exploratory research document.
