The Convergence Mandate: A Conceptual Framework for Convergent Enterprise Transformation
Year: 2026
Type: preprint
Abstract: Enterprise transformation initiatives frequently underperform when organizational re-engineering and digital infrastructure deployment are managed as decoupled operational tracks. While existing research in strategic alignment, enterprise architecture, and dynamic capabilities emphasizes the necessity of coordination, traditional frameworks frequently treat alignment as a static, downstream matching exercise rather than an active, co-evolving structural integration. This paper introduces the Convergent Transformation Framework (CTF), an analytical framework designed to conceptualize the structural integration of strategic business reconfigurations and technological execution layers. We develop the T20 Model, an operational taxonomy classifying twenty discrete transformation variables across Institutional, Orchestration, and Execution strata, and map them onto five core Convergence Pillars: Market & Value, People & Mindset, Customer & Purpose, Performance & Flow, and Core & Insights. To support conceptual rigor, we formalize the enterprise using structural coupling formalisms and bounded cross-domain coupling metrics. We establish conceptual research propositions detailing how structural integration may influence enterprise transformation outcomes, providing an academically defensible framework for contemporary enterprise transformation research and outlining a distinct pathway for future empirical validation.
