Assessing clarity and understanding of informed consent language to foster data sharing: a mixed-methods study

Abstract: The primary objective of this study is to assess potential research participants’ perspectives on the clarity and understandability of two recently developed research consent templates for data sharing. The secondary objective is to evaluate whether participants’ perceptions differ based on three conditions of consent form presentation: 1) the written consent form alone; 2) the written consent form with the ability to ask questions to a researcher; and 3) the written consent form with supplementary visual materials.
