Dataset for Time-Dependent Thermal Behavior of a Thermal Interface Material in a PV-TEG System: A Preliminary Experimental Case Study
Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: This dataset contains the raw experimental thermal and electrical measurements for a 144-hour (6-day) longitudinal case study analyzing a silicone-based thermal interface material (TIM) within a hybrid photovoltaic-thermoelectric generator (PV-TEG) system. The measurements were conducted under stable laboratory conditions with 1000 W/m² halogen illumination and an ambient temperature of 23±1°C. The dataset is organized across 6 distinct daily sheets (Day 1 to Day 6), tracking the transient and steady-state progression profiles at specific time intervals. It includes multi-point thermal monitoring metrics: PV surface temperature (Tpv), TEG hot-side interface temperature (Th), and TEG cold-side interface temperature (Tc). Additionally, corresponding electrical performance parameters (voltage and current) for both the PV panel and the TEG module are provided. These data validate the non-monotonic performance evolution (initial settling phase, peak operation at 72 hours, and subsequent early-stage thermal fatigue/degradation) presented in the associated research article.
