Additional material. NHMW 1863/0015/0107, SL: 2.9 mm, MD: 1.3 mm, Buituri (Romania); NHMW 1863/0015/0107a, SL: 2.9 mm, MD: 1.4 mm, Buituri (Romania); NHMW 1863/0015/0107b, SL: 2.6 mm, MD: 1.3 mm, Buituri (Romania). Revised description. Shell small, solid, moderately slender, subcylindrical (SL/MD = 2.1–2.6), with almost straight to faintly concave sides, forming low angle of 7–8°. Periphery below mid-whorl (SL/ PH = 2.3–2.6). Protoconch mammillate, heterostrophic with one or two visible whorls. Teleoconch of about three whorls separated by deeply incised suture. Spire whorls occasionally partly covered by subsequent whorls, convex with rounded shoulder, of variable height, resulting in more or less elevated spire (apical angle = 80–126°); spire broad (MS/ ApD = 1.6–1.7). Last whorl ~87–93% of total height, with rounded shoulder angulation, subcylindrical below, widening slightly abapically, rounded at base. Surface smooth except for shallowly arcuate growth lines. Aperture narrow in upper half (MD/AW = 8.2–8.7), widening distinctly anteriorly (MD/MAW = 2.1), resulting in moderate to high expansion rate (ER = 3.8–4.1); outer lip simple, moderately thin. Columella moderately excavated, narrowly expanded over base, without fold. No parietal callus. Discussion. This species was placed by Landau et al. (2013) in Acteocina but lacks the characteristic canaliculate suture of that genus. The spire morphology is identical with that of Retusa promamillata Boettger, 1907 and Retusa mammillata (Philippi, 1836), suggesting a close relation with these species. It differs from both of these species in its more elevated spire. Paleoenvironment. The occurrence at Steinebrunn (Austria) and at Seyithasan (Turkey) suggests shallow water environments (own data M.H, B.L) whereas the occurrence in the Baden Formation at Bad Vöslau (Austria) might also indicate deeper water environments (Kranner et al. 2021). Distribution in Central Paratethys. Badenian (Middle Miocene): Roztocze Hills: Łychów (Poland) (Krach 1981); Vienna Basin: Bad Vöslau, Vienna Pötzleinsdorf (Austria) (Berger 1953); Pannonian Basin: Pécsvárad (Hungary) (Kókay 1985); Bükk Mountains: Borsodbóta (Hungary) (Csepreghy-Meznerics 1972). Southern Pannonian Basin: Hrvaćani (Bosnia and Herzegovina) (Atanacković 1985); Făget Basin: Buituri (Romania) (hoc opus). Proto-Mediterranean Sea. Serravallian (Middle Miocene): Karaman Basin: Lale, Seyithasan (Turkey) (Landau et al. 2013).
